      An Arrow alerts the student to a Student Reading. A Clipboard for the student indicates an activity, simulation, research project or laboratory investigation.
    • Global Systems Science Icons
      Global Systems Science (GSS) icons throughout the Teacher Edition alert teachers to readings relating to the chapter section. GSS was developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California, Berkeley.

    • Activities Flowchart
      The Activities Flowchart clearly shows the activities within the chapter. Global Science is known for its solid laboratory/activity emphasis. Major concepts are embedded in the activities so the entire course can be taught without giving lectures. The activities are economical, with most items available at local grocery and hardware stores.
    • Activity Questions and Tasks
      Students' skills are assessed with Questions&Tasks as part of the activity. Answers are provided in the wrap around section of the Teacher Guide.
    • Teacher Resource CD
      A variety of tools for assessment can be found on the Teacher Resource CD-ROM, including activities, assessments, extensions, and study guides.

      The ExamView Assessment Suite includes all the tools you need to create and administer tests--online or within your classroom. Administer chapter tests, quizzes, benchmark tests, homework, and worksheets.

    • Global Systems Science books
      Global Systems Science (GSS) provides supplemental materials for the Global Science high school course. GSS has supplementary readings focusing on societal issues that require science for full understanding. GSS was developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California, Berkeley with funding from the Department of Energy, NASA, and NSF.

    • Global Systems Science CD-ROM
      The Global Systems Science CD-ROM includes all the GSS books in PDF format, as well as the GSS software suite. This software includes Digital Earth Watch and Interpreting Digital Images for analyzing images from Earth satellites; and Hands-On Universe Image Processing software for analyzing telescope images in astronomical investigations.
    • Global Science user Website
      The Global Science user Web site includes the Student Edition in PDF format for students and the Teacher Edition PDF for teachers as well as the Teacher Resource CD.  Also available is a section for parents called "Parents Corner."

      NSTA SciLinks are integrated Web resources available to students, teachers, and parents.
    • Teacher Resource CD
      The Teacher Resource CD provides additional support in the form of chapter tests, activities found in the student book, extensions, handouts, study guides (one per chapter) and transparencies.
